The marker on the map appears when you enter a valid address for your company in the Control panel or during company posting.
It is automatically put after selecting a state, location and specifying a company address, and you can move it by dragging it to the right location. Marker should be set within the country you're at, since if you put the address from another country, the system won't allow you to put your company listing, neither you will see the marker within the map.
The maps are useful for users who want to go to your store or office, plus they can look which companies that offer certain products are closest.
Maps are shown on the company profile page, at the left side of the contact details:
Also, if they click on "How to get", the marker will indicate your potential clients the best route from their location to yours:
At last, when the users make a search, or they select filters for certain types of categories (Automotive, Clothing, etc), they can see all the related Companies and Products near their location.
